The Art of Ramadan: A Muslim American art showcase will be held on July 21-22, 2017, during Artscape, America’s largest free arts festival held in Baltimore, Maryland.
The show will include an opening reception, visual art exhibits, live performances, panel discussions, and an art market. It is free and open to the public.
The idea for the Art of Ramadan was born in 2013, in an attempt to celebrate the way Ramadan, and Islam more broadly, inspire creative expression. This year, we hope to use the show as a grassroots response to Islamophobia. Muslim American artists defy national, cultural, and religious stereotypes through their diverse identities and diverse artistic expressions. We seek to celebrate the role that art and artists play in inspiring creative resistance. We hope you will join us!
